![]() We Keep You Informed Is it really worth paying to detail my car right before I sell it? Absolutely and here’s why. Your car will sell faster and for more money if you have it detailed. This is a FACT proven by used auto dealers millions of times over. Think about this… auto dealers are in business to make money on every car sale right? Then why do they spend money detailing every single car that goes on their lot? The answer is obvious. Also think of it this way, people that come by to see your car for sale have probably been shopping around right? Yours is not the first or last car they have looked at. If yours is freshly detailed it will make a noticeable impression on them. It will appear that you have kept the vehicle clean and well maintained its entire life! Why should I get a hand car wash instead of a drive through wash which costs less? If you are using a drive through wash, your car's surface may be exposed to many damaging conditions. These may include: rough brushes that may leave scratches and/or swirl marks on your paint, and harsh chemicals that may break down any protection that your paint has on it. Drive through washes may not do a thorough job at cleaning your car. Drive through washes may also cause damage to moldings, antennas, etc. that the wash facility may not claim any responsibility for. At SoCal Auto Spa, we use a gentle process that will reduce the chance of damage on your paint. Some other advantages of our Full Hand Wash Plus are: we spray down the entire vehicle to remove the loose dirt before we take a mitt to it, we also spray underneath and in the wheel wells, we do a thorough dry (you will not be in the parking lot drying the car by yourself), and we dress your tires so they are shiny and new looking. Why should I pay more with SoCal Mobile to wash my car when I can get a car wash for $10? Automatic car washes are unsafe for your car's paint. Brushless car washes use low cost chemicals that will strip the wax and protection from your car. Car washes with brushes will cause scratches in your car's paint called swirl marks which ruins the appearance of your car. In addition, Federal Law requires car washes to recycle their water. Thus, they are washing your car with dirty water contaminated with acid, salt, road grime and everything else! This dirty water and acid will strip any wax or sealant you have on your car, ruin convertible tops and damage your clear coat in about 38 seconds! An SoCal car detail always starts with a hand wash. Our hand wash is with fresh clean water, biodegradable soap and a micro fiber mitt. In addition, during SoCal's car detail your automobile will be given meticulous cleaning removing dirt, dust and stains in hard to reach places. I have seen local car wash's, tint shops and gas stations offering detailing at half the prices of most professional detailer services, what is the difference? First beware of any company that offers "add-on" services because it is not usually their core competency or specialty. Most professional detailers only detail cars. Reason being, a true detail consists of meticulous cleaning; professional swirl free polishing and protection of surfaces. Most less expensive, add-on detail programs simply cover dirt with shiny greasy solvent-based dressings. This not only traps the dirt inside but the solvents in many of these dressings actually damage the surfaces. In addition, most professional detailers are trained to use the equipment to get a desired look. Do not let an inexperienced detailer practice and make mistakes with your vehicle. What is a clay bar? Clay bars are used to remove embedded contaminants from painted surfaces. With today's soft paints, any contaminants that sit on your paint can quickly become embedded. These contaminants aren't easily removed, even by washing or waxing. If you can feel bumps in the paint after washing and drying or waxing, chances are you'll need to have it clayed first. In most cases, the wash 'n wax program you see at the car wash facilities do not include claying. Our full detail package include claying services. Can I wax too often? Today's paints ARE softer and thinner than previous years. In other words, you can NEVER wax too often - just as long as the plastic or rubber part of the car does not get any waxes on them. What is the difference between paint sealant and wax? Paint sealant forms a clear chemical bond that protects the finish of the vehicle and maintains that new car appearance. It is guaranteed to keep its shine for at least one whole year with proper maintenance. Waxes leave microscopic layers of fine wax particles providing deep shine and protection. With regular maintenance and care, the deep shine can last between 3 to 12 months depending upon the quality of the wax. We use only the highest quality wax in the industry today. What is the difference between waxing and polishing? Polishing is designed to bring out the gloss. Waxing is for protection. Polishing is what makes the wet-look, deep gloss possible, especially effective on dark-colored cars. How long a wax lasts depends on a variety of factors such as the environment and how the surface is prepared. Our detailing experts are trained to meet your needs and requests. |
